Hawk HP+ : but then I admittedly am willing to put up with a decent amount of noise/dust/rotor wear in order to stop NOW .

If you can put up with the downsides though, very grippy pad that does not fade under any conditions you're gonna be able to achieve on the street!

No idea....I know Hawk is sometimes slow to come out with the HPS and HP+ for new applications. It took them over a year (closer to 2!) to get the pads out for the STI front caliper (which is also used on Evo 8 and the Caddy CTS-V....so there is a definite market for the pad).

i have axxis ultimates now after using cobalt gt sports. the ultimates don't stop nearly as well as the cobalts, but i was willing to downgrade if it meant less noise and dust.

for the money, the ultimates aren't bad.

I have used Hawk HPS pads with great luck over the years, they do tend to dust... but who cares.
I just got a set of EBC Greenstuff pads for my Impreza, but haven't installed them yet.
If you need to go cheap, check out the Axxis Metal Master pads. They do dust and make noise , but work quite well

I like really aggressive pads for the street, and am having great luck with the Project Mu Titan KAI pads, and I'm using them w/slotted & dimpled 2-piece Mu front rotors, and slotted & dimpled 1-piece rear rotors, and SS Mu lines front and back.

They are noisy and dusty, need a stop or two to warm up, but damn do they stop!
