Check it out online too.

As long as you have dimensions or template they can. Different thicknesses too. I would definitely go this route.
How much is their material per SQ foot usually? if you know that is.

I don't know. It might run you around $50, but you would never have to touch it again.

I know when I got 1/8 and 3/16 pieces for work that were, 12"x8". It was like $3.00~ a piece. I would call and ask.

If you are serious, hit me up. I can design a sheetmetal piece with a nice rectangle cutout for a window, with countersunk holes to mount the plexi to. Then just give tap plastics the dimensions, they can cut it and put the holes in the appropriate locations...

Do this^^^

That way it won't cost as much and you can still see through.

Make a cool acrylic one with like fish in it or something! You can also make a tape negative and lightly sand in a logo or something.

Make it out of lexan (polycarbonate) not acrylic. Lexan = bullet proof. Acrylic is strong too, but thin acrylic will tend to crack. I used to work at a plastics place Polycarbonate is what our headlights are made of.

What an appropriate thread. I've been planning on doing this for a while (the cover is pretty destroyed in my RS). I like the Lexan idea, though I was initially thinking about aluminum. Great food for thought!

Not sure if it would fit but it might be close...

These are found in the 1st gen legacy sedans and they fit perfectly in the second generation legacy sedans which normally come with the weak pressboard cover that you have in your photo.

Tap plastics gonna be reall expensive. And for them to cut it for you, going to be even more expensive. For a piece that big, with thick enough depth, gonna be real expensive.

Went to pick and pull once, took a pristine one out of an outback, was fo free since it was a $2 dollar part and paid $2 bucks to get in.

I would just get a thinner piece of MGD board and cut it yourself. Put some glue on it, THEN THROW SOME SPRINKLES ON THAT ****!

Or get some carpet and glue it on....... w/e. Expletive.
