Whats normal for EGT's???

Question Whats normal for EGT's???

I just installed my header and have my EGT guage hooked up does anyone know what is normal EGT and what is too high, I have to drive it for a week before getting retuned and dont want to hurt anything

Car Info: the blue bucket
If it's a STI they can get up to 870c or so (WRX tend to be a little less than that), typically by adding a header you'll lean out a little so might have to get the car tuned as it may run a little hotter with the new header on.

i was at 1400 deg F at full throttle so i should be ok

Yea that is pretty cold, was the engine even on

lol....using metrics

Never paid attention to that in school, then I ended up in the land o' metrics (Japan) for 10 years and was cursing not having paid attention. DEFINATELY a better system....but having been reaclimated to the US...I'm starting to forget the metrics again...
