whats the next step?

im hoping to trade in my protege5 for a new wrx in the next 6 months and already have my basic mods planned out (wheel/tires, up/down pipe, exhaust, tein flexs) but what do i do after that? what could i do to make the engine run more efficently in terms of gas mileage? i have 2 friends that have the same mods as posted above, and they're getting about 20mpg. so is there anything i can do?

Gas mileage is very dependent on how you drive. If you don't stomp on the gas all the time, I'm sure you can get mid 20's all the time. As far as mods, you probably want sway bars before springs.

IMHO the best way is to get used to the car as it is, stock, first, and then decide your mods.

Yea, if you don't, then you're just wasting your money by not appreciating the difference/improvements at it's fullest.

get sway bar/enlinks then springs. As for your next mod get some type of EM or something. it really up to you and what you feel like doing at that moment.

i wasnt planning on doing everything as soon as i got the car. i just want to know if there is anything that can be done in terms of making the engine run more efficently. if i end up not feeling like getting the flexs, i might just get something not quite so extreme.

If you're going to modify the car that much, just save up for an Sti and you get a better car with a warranty intact.
