But every so often you will get the pop up saying "new update avail blah blah blah" and you will have to deny it everytime

This link has a link in it to download 2.26.20 Froyo (there are some between that and 2.3, so you might want to look for another) but it also has instructions/vid on how to use RSD Lite (you will have to download that too).
And note that your phone might use different keys than the X1 to get into recovery/boot modes

well what i was talking about was just basically "downgrading" your phone from the latest updates. Some ppl dont like the new updates, so you can always roll your phone back to the way it used to be Originally Posted by sigma pi

Hmm oh well. I thought you would have been able to do it with almost any android platform
Good luck

Getting TERRIBLE cell service with my fascinate, I was on base this past week and while standing next to someone with a DoidX I had 1-2 bars while they had full service. I contacted the rep for verizon and they're sending a new phone out.
If it happens with this new fascinate I'm going to ask for a droid X as a replacement.
It seems like this reception issue is rather far spread with the fascinates, something I did NOT know prior to buying it
. I bought it for the screen, which is BY FAR the most vibrant of any smart phone from verizon with a 4in display.

I'm on my second phone, this one has slightly better reception than my first. It has been an on going issue for almost a year.Originally Posted by STiForFun
