what are you using for front speakers?

I would post in Speakers forum but it gets no love...

Just curious what people have gotten to replace the front speakers. I am leaving the stereo as is, but want to upgrade the front speakers only. Looking at JBL, Infinity, etc... and plan on spending only $150

Thanks for any feedback!

if you're ever in the bay area, you can audition my diamond audio speakers and hear for yourself!

edit: actually, if you're just swapping out speakers, you're looking at something more power efficient.

Nice..which ones do u have? I've heard good things about them, but never heard any.

I have Polk Audio Momo components in mine. They're ok, but not the greatest.

If I had the money, I'd get CDT eurosport components....mmm...

i have focal polyglass components. nice, but too deep. when spaced out to clear the window, they hit the grill. in all honesty, if you can get a good set of tweeters and crossovers you can use the stock front drivers with surprising results.

i've got infinity kappa perfects, the only thing holding them back is the thin doors that dont like the bass, even with dynamat.

I'm running JBL's right now. I am wanting to get some new ones, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Focal Access 165a in the front and the Focal Access 165 ca in the rear. The Poly Glass 165cv shallow mounts will fit perfect in the fronts the regular 165 poly glass will fit but it's a close fit and the cones/surrounds will make some contact with the door panel, unless you trim that plastic ring away. I trimmed mine in order to fit the 165a access. Another speaker that will fit with no problems would be the Kenwood Excelon kfc-xr61p component set. Those things are ultra light weight and very shallow. Neodymium magnets for both the driver and tweeter. Good x-over. They are a bit weak in the bass, but if you have a woofer, that shouldn't be a worry. Very bright tweeter and easy install. I sell alot of those from my shop. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at my work. Cartunes 707-546-8585...
