Angry what is wrong with people?

First, in the unincorporated areas of Hayward, San Lorenzo, San Leandro, BE VERY CAREFUL of CHP and SHERRIFS. Last week I was pulled over in unincorporated Hayward by CHP.......get this.....for doing a CLAIMED 35mph in a 25mph zone, however, I WAS NOT near 35mph, maybe just reaching 30mph. In fact I SAW the CHP car on the side of the street as I approached it, in 2nd gear. But, lo and behold, on come his lights and SIREN and he pulls me over just as I pass him. I figure it's because of my lack of front plate, but no, he tells me I was speeding.
Bu11$hit.
Typically, I drive like an old lady (unless I'm out on highway 25 in the middle of nowhere). I obey speed limits, I signal, I stop for pedestrians in crosswalks (even pigeons sometimes), I don't tailgate, etc. But this ***** cop writes me up, as 4-5 cars SPEED by (35mph +).

So think about all the jerk offs that run red lights, that tailgate, that cut in and out of traffic with no signal, that scream along at 95mph in the slow lane (have fun trying to merge with one of these guys coming up on you). And be careful in these areas. CHP is 'cracking down' in these areas. They're targeting shiny, sporty cars of the younger regime (like WRX's).

So anyway, needless to say, I am pissed about the whole deal. And just yesterday, my wife and I are going down Ashby in Berkeley right near Alta Bates, dodging traffic, bicyclists, and pedestrians. I'm creeping along at 30mph. And in my mirror it looks like I have a Black Escort attached to my rear bumper....gee I didn't order the tow hitch option, did I? So I look again, and she's screaming at me to hurry up and giving me the finger and getting just plain f*cking stupid. So at the next light, I get out of my car and walk back to this Escort and ask her "Do you have a good reason to be on my *** like you are? You have a tow bar attached to my car or what?"

And she comes unglued. Calls me every name under the sun, threatens me...etc. And MY WIFE TELLS ME I AM WRONG!!!

You guys ever seen Robert DeNiro in Taxi Driver? I am beginning to feel the same way.

There are crazy people in Berkeley... one time I was making a left turn getting on 24 from Telegraph. The light was green, but there's on coming traffic, so I just stopped at the light and waited for it to clear, then this guy in a beat up green saturn pulled up behind me, at first, I saw him mumbling, I thought he was singing to his radio or something, then I looked again, he gave me the finger, screamed at me to hurry up, and honked, while there was nothing I can do, since cars are still coming on the opposite lane. Eventually, I got on 24, driving around 65-70, he followed, had kept on tailgating me. I switched lanes after a couple minutes, he pulled up next to me and gave me the finger, I sped up to 80, and he kept tailing me, I got really scared, so i just floored to around 100, and lost him for good.

That reminds me of a time when i went to see a giants game with my dad... we had a guy strickly riding our tail in no traffic for no reason. he kept honking and flashing his brights as we drove a steady 80mph in the left lane. the man could have went around us. then out of nowhere we hit stop and go traffic near vallejo...

my dad (a very BIG/BURLY man at 6'9" 275lbs) steps out of his truck and casually walks over to the mans car. When the other man saw the size of my dad he desperately tries to switch lanes (why didn't he do this sooner!?)

Then my dad punches through the drivers side window, grabs the man's head and slams his head numerous times into the steering wheel I was already out of the truck (i was only 11yrs old) covering the rear plate so the man's wife couldn't read the plates as she tried to write them down.

I hope you were on an expressway, and not blocking the fast lane on a freeway. Undertaking is illegal.

You're lucky she wasn't packing. My wife is under strict instructions to BLAST any male that rushes up to her window in anger. And we'll win in court too.

Drive at least the speed limit grandpa!

I'm kidding...I usually slow way down to punish tailgaters...they usually get the hint. But seriously...don't get out of your car in anger...it's just looking for trouble.

So my question still stands: WTF is wrong with these mental giants behind the wheel?

And seriously, WTF can we do rid the planet of them?

And as far as threatening the skank, no I did not threaten or intend to threaten her, c'mon. I simply wanted her to know that I had acknowledged her poor driving skills and to get her off my ***. It's not like I pulled out the Barry Bonds big-stick and caved her windshield in. Something needs to be done. The man who chooses to obey the damn laws and be courteous on the road needs a method of recourse. I can tell you from experience, typically the cops basically laugh at you. I watched a dude get mowed down on his bike on Broadway in Oakland by an SUV, the guy was on the ground bleeding, I'm standing with him, my wife's on the cell with 911, an Oakland PD drives by as I'm flagging him down. He keeps going.

Maybe my frustrated brain is running to close to redline, but for christ's sake, something's got to give.
