Dude if you have gone to all the trouble of getting to brown belt level without the demands of "competition" training, go and find another school where you can continue doing it your way. What ever you do , do not stop now that you are soo close to Black.. Once you have your black, then decide what you enjoy and at what level you want to be involved. Some schools take themselves far too seriously and it becomes an obsession. Don't get involved in that. This art is a "discipline", don't become a disciple to someone who's goals are different to your own..Cheers..

Seriously! Full contact martial arts are such a sausage fest compared to ikebana, minyou, buyou, etc.

Muay Thai to do damage when you close in, judo to steal their balance and take them down, then BJJ to submit, pound and break
On paper you are a dangerous petrol head but you are also a good/peaceful guy so learn how to run fast so you can take the high road through superior cardio when required and you don't need to back anybody up. All the toughest guys hate fighting if at all possible I read once

In the gym or on the mats, go 110% and you're only liable to make best friends and rivals that'll push you to be better; on the streets, it's more trouble than it's worth -- that's my philosophy!

I'm just saying, don't do anything for a belt. Do it for the knowledge, do it for the practice.
Don't stay in a bad training situation just because they could give you a belt

I say stick with it. Ive spent 20 years doing martial arts (9 of the last for mma) and it was not only rewarding but educational and invigorating. I currently know tae kwon do , judo, ju jit su, jeet kun do, and capuerra) granted im back at it again and now im going for muy thai , i can say having all my life experience accumulated, im at ease branching off into new territories.
Bottom line. The more you know, the better youll fair competion time as well as conditioning.
