Opening your window should make your room cooler because you are creating a vacuum. If you leave your room door open and your window you have fresh air from outside coming in. If you're windows are closed the heat just builds up in your room. If you have AC on of course gotta close that window. You notice how when you open and close your door in your room and if you have blinds they will get sucked up through the window? Just like if you leave your car with all the windows shut it's gonna get hot as helllllllll in there, but if u crack it open a little it won't be as hot.
Davis heat is pretty bad, I was biking home from class and i can feel the heat all around me. Just be happy it's not humid in california!
here's another tip. wear sandals/flip flops and have short hair. Heat dissipates from your head and toes/fingers.

+1. I work from home, but f-that, i'm going in tomorrow. Like I said in the beginning, I went to Raging Waters then went to the movies and saw transformers (great movie) finally I get home around 7 and when I opened the door to the house it felt like I entered hell! So tomorrow, I'll be happily driving to work and enjoying the AC.
