Its all about finding that spot that looks like its off a cliff, then creep in to it.

Depends also on where exactly you are parking, lake blvd. has a good deal of parking spots.
You did nothing wrong. You know the road and you have the car to handle that type of road. You got rid of the moron, nobody got hurt and hopefully this tool learned sumtin'.

Good Job...
...a great piece of driving. Hopefully he learns some respect. If he doesn't learn his lesson, then hopefully, the Darwin Award will be given to him at the bottom of some cliff that he drives off of, trying to show what an @$$ he is.

The NSX is a work of art, a drop-dead gorgeous (styling is a personal thing, I think it's hot) absolute GEM of a perfect car. Hand built.. Suspension is so beautiful, cast aluminum pieces.. Aluminum body, rediculously sweet engine (my world stops rotating when I am at the track and that full race NSX with the Comptech blower goes by at like 987487637824732rpm), perfect interior, etc. A truly amazing car. Yes it's expensive, but someone's gotta pay for perfection. A supercar that you can daily drive, shoot your mom could daily drive it. Yet it's wicked fast on the track.
Make mine a hardtop in Silverstone please. 3.2 6spd. Kthanksbye.
Someday I will own one..

What I have noticed is generally speaking, the flashier the car the worse the driver on that road. Seems like people take their ba dass cars down there to show off and then get schooled by the locals in "lesser" cars.

LOL!
Good job!
It was a lesson that needed learning

Not so for Mr. Racer; I heard him skid, I saw him swerve twice before he brought it back under controll, and then I saw him SLOW THE HELL DOWN and drop out of sight.

Here's the thing, though: I know these roads really well, and I don't think he did. If he had, he would have known that the second straight ends in a very abrupt left with not-so-great camber. I've taken that left over 3 thousand times, and I know that I can safely pull it in the WRX at just over 70; I don't think he even knew it was comming.

Kids: don't tailgate. If ya do, you can't see the road ahead, just someone's tailpipe.

The truth is that if he had spun and crashed, I would have had to go back to help him (because that's just me). If he had been hurt, then I would have felt like the rat-bastard of the year.
On the other hand, don't we all have one early "omygod that was close" experience that teaches us to drive with more care? Maybe I was that experience for some youngn' in his daddy's car.
Maybe whoever was driving took no lesson from the experience at all. Maybe it was a waste and a hazard to public safety... someone could have been coming the other way, after all.
Maybe the joy I took in the event at the time proves that my motives were not pure. (not a teacher, but a bully)
One of the real ethical puzzles of this weird old world is that we often don't get to know the consequenses of our own actions, even if we want to.
Oh well,
Mike

Maybe. I had a moment like that caught on video- it was at Buttonwillow in March when I had to try to dodge a speeding WRX that thankfully didn't come back on track, because I couldn't have avoided it. Taught me some lessons that I applied to my real-world driving.
Interesting that you should mention this strory, as two guys are on trial for manslaughter after doing what you just did...

Cliff notes: bunch of kids going home from the races. Car full of guys gets in front of a car with two girls and speeds up instead of letting them pass. Finally, he lets them go by, and the girls speed into a curve, lose control, crash and die. The drivers of the other cars are being held responsible for their deaths.
The appropriate place to be when racing someone of questionable skill is out of the race.
