thanks for the help barry. ive decided that i would go to traffic school. cant afford the higher insurance. but the thing is this coming sunday will be 4 weeks since i got the ticket. i called today asking how come i didnt get it in the mail yet, and they said they didnt have it on file.
now if i call within the next 3 weeks, and they still say its not filed, am i off the hook?
leo kind of worried me with the warrant. my bud got slapped in the can for something he didnt clear up. dont really want that ish to happen to me.
sorry if im being overly nervous about this.

Well if the letter doesn't come in the mail or it doesn't show up in their system, you still signed the citation stating you agree to appear in court on that date. Maybe you could appear and when they call you, and there's nothing on file, you're free. You can't sign up for traffic school til it shows up on their system anyways at least I don't think so.

the DUE PROCESS thing is the thing that might get you out.

but i would still suggest you DO EVERYTHING possible to CLEAR this matter up.

you know the system is big and like i said, it may have just gotten "misplaced" and because you did sign the citation, you are in it...

so have them give you something in writing and keep checking.

again, you dont want to have this escalate to the worse case scenario...
