Oh weird, I didn't catch the sarcasm. Maybe I came off a little terse but I seriously hate that crap. Growing up in Hawaii, it's something you see all the time. Someone has something nicer, destroy it. Someone does something you don't like, mess with their stuff. It's so crappy. Most of the time people don't even know why their stuff was messed with. I am talking anything from slashed tires to someone's car they worked for years to have getting torched.
But yeah, flakes suck. I think the point most are trying to make here is that, flakes are not gonna stop flakin' - it's up to you to ensure that you are covered and not putting yourself out there to be flakebait. I dunno. Myself, I have also had really good luck with i-club exchanges as some others mentioned.

BTW, because CL produces the flakiest buyers, here's a strategy I use:
Agree with the buyer a 1 hour time slot and tell him/her the location of the nearest grocery store to your location. Agree to meet in that parking lot in that 1 hour window, but tell them that when they get there to call you and you'll arrive within 5 minutes.
This is a reasonable burden on the buyer, and allows you as the seller to stay home (or whever you are) and do your own thing. At worst, they don't show up and you just played and hour of video games or chores, etc.
