One vote for World Rally Xtreme... though I have no proof whatsoever to back that up.

The GT28RS isn't going to make you the most-est horsepower evar, but it spools fast and is incredibly responsive. S-Squared uses a GT28RS on a STI block, and the spool and response was amazing.

I assume your joking

The GT28RS should spool pretty damn quick on the STI block, given that application dependant it's really not the turbo for that setup. One of the GT30r family would be a better choice on a 2.5L of course again application depending.

Nate had decided on going with the potato for the shop racecar after numerous discussions with the people we purchased the turbo from. Since the car was going to be used as a track-only car, the idea of the GT28r was best suited for what Nate wanted.

Having a turbo with great response would help coming out of the corners a lot better then going with a GT30 or even a GT35. Although the car would not make as much horsepower that would be possible with a bigger turbo like the 30, what we gained in response was well worth using the Potato

Like a I said application dependant. Great turbo and I'm sure it works for Nate just fine.

I would still think a 30 to be better suited for a track car (not like you take corners at 1500rpms) with a STI bottom end if the heads have had the suitable work done to them.

I think it's all down to opinions when you get to this stuff and as long as whatever turbo you choose works for you then it's the right turbo.

Nope, I'm not joking. Although (European) Rally Cross is generally populated with privateers buying old rally cars (hence a few Subaru's may show up in Rally Crosses), I can't really think of any manufacturers that back any Rally Cross cars. I could be wrong, though, I follow point-to-point Rally (WRC and various national WRC style championships) more then Rally Cross, but every Rally Cross I've seen seems to lack a manufacturer presence.

Although, I guess WRX's do dominate American Rally Crosses (esp. the stock classes). But still, no official manufacturer presence.

I think we've both been missing each others points here mate, I don't think the X reference to cross is aimed at the typicall RallyX you draw reference too. In Europe the Rally's are refered to as Rallycrosses the bigger ones becoming actual sanctioned events (much as here where once a event gets so popular the organizers will try and get it sanctioned). Subaru draws it's heritage from deep back in the days which is where I based the X reference to the Rallycrosses. The only reason I stated it as it was in one of the brochures for the Impreza in 94 or 95 back in the UK.

Thanks for the clarification. But I thought Rallycrosses in Europe were circular courses and wheel to wheel, not point-to-point timed events, as they seem to be counted in laps, not stages.

EDIT:

Also, I want to apologize for the severe tangent, but it seems that the original question has been addressed.

Some are indeed lap based not all or the majority at least not when I was living there anyway, could have changed.

For the BAIC this is still somewhat on topic I mean someone did reply to the original question somewhere in here.
