Is a "disco potato" another name for a turbo or a specific type of turbocharger?

 

A turbo by garret I think. It's in an issue of sport compact. I forgot the real name.

i read the article about it in Sport Compact Car

 

This turbo (Garret GT28RS) was originally used on SCC's project 240 (?), which was called the disco potato because of the color-shift paint. That's where the nickname came from.

Oh, and WRX stands for 'World Rally eXpiramental'. So there.

 

it's called the "disco potato" because the Garret engineer that came up with it's specifications put it in a color shifting brown Sentra for the Ultimate Street Car Shootout in SCC.

World Rally Cross doesn't make any sense to me. Subaru is not a big name in any Rally Cross circut I've ever seen.

I'll stick with World Rally eXperimental.
