club photography on busy nights.. it does nothing for my phototaking skills (half the time i just put it on auto), but during the summer, i was getting paid 80-150 a night (once i was paid 300, it was a good night), for taking pics for 1-3 hours, in which most of the time i'm just macking on the wimmenz, or getting pulled by them to take their pic.. its great

I was at Infusion Lounge this past weekend and there was someone taking pics... such an easy job. haha
I love my current job. I work for an insurance brokerage. I'm currently a member service rep and am working on smaller groups but I'm learning the business and am planning on getting my brokers license this summer. I'm still a senior in high school and I make $12 an hour so it's a pretty good deal for me. The people I work with are all awesome and they are really chill with my hours and stuff.

I worked for KSJO/KFOX/Channel 104.9 radio for awhile and that was a blast. Got to see a lot of crazy stuff that normal people don't get to. Got to meet A TON of celeb's ( BTW, Ben Harper is pretty much the coolest guy on Earth). And there is something really awesome about getting paid to be in a strip club at 5am on a Thursday.
I worked as a professional musician for years... touring and playing bigger venues (Filmore main stage ect). I'll bet you can guess all of the side benefits there.
Spent about 6 years working for Goodies Speed Shop (used to be called Speed Merchant) designing race cars, hot rods ect... mind-numbingly busy; but man we built some cool stuff.

thats awesome. I miss KSJO.
I remember before they went off the air, i was channel surfing and Nirvana was playing on 92.3 104.9 and 105.3 all at the same time lol
I love 104.9...so glad they brought it back. live105 plays the same garbage loop of 20 songs all day long. Except 90's at noon is cool.

Ah KSJO... I was there when Lamont an Tonelli left and The Mikey Show came in (L&T were hacks then and are now). We had about a year of really good ground-breaking radio. Than Mikey left for San Diego (and lost his mind). I left around the same time; a couple of months before Mikey.
With Mikey gone, the syndicated "Bob and Tom Show" took over- oh god that was the worst radio I've ever heard. As soon as I heard those two a$$holes on the air, I knew it was over.
Channel 104.9 was an odd setup back then... There was only one guy who really worked for that station - John... also known as "Johnny Who Cares" he was the Program director and Afternoon guy. Everything else was electronically piped in from out of town.

Damn cool jobs I see in this thread.
Mine isn't really in the same league, but it's pretty cool none the less. I worked at this after-school tutorial center located inside a "village" filled with filthy rich families. I handled rich spoiled high school teenagers for 3 years. The pay was only really enough for spending money in college, and the kids are headaches most of the time (I walked out on one of them once!).
All that pain and hard work becomes worth it when they start showing you their report cards with significantly improved grades, or when you find out from the owner of the center that they specifically requested for you at the start of the new school year.
Yeah, that job also made me appreciate all of my teachers and professors on a whole new level.
It still works, or at least that's how my friends (2 guys, no babes) skipped the long *** line and got inside Tau.

Yes and no... I started as an intern when I was in college. Radio folks are typically pretty happy to have a gofer who will work for free. BUT you have to be a student for insurance reasons.
I proved myself for 3 months as an intern and basically fought my way into getting hired. There was only me and another girl who were interning at the time. We got lucky and they created positions for both of us... it was a good thing, she was a hot chick and I probably would have been SOL if there was only one position.
From there, it's just a matter of working extremely hard, for very little money. At the time I was making ~$9/hour and getting paid for about half of the hours I worked. The hours are unpredictable and can be VERY long.
All of that said, I would do it again in a heartbeat for the right station
The problem with any cool job is that there are a line of people willing to do it for cheap.
