what chains to buy...and then eventually return
I am driving across country with a Nissa Versa
or similar car, that I will rent in a few days. I plan on a suicidal mission and drive to minneapolis through ID,MT,WA. because I want to stop in yellowstone.
but anyways. What chains should I buy, I don't want to spend too much.
And also say I buy them at a chain store like PepBoys, can I return them at pepboys in minneapolis? I have a gift card for home depot, do they have chains there?

I am more concerned about what type should i buy, what's the easiest to put on. I called and the return policy is within my time range. Of course if I use them I will not return them
Cables, no chains.
I like the ShureGripZ... but most cables for cars are easy to put on.
But I will admit, doing so in freezing temps SUCKS, cause your hands go numb after just a few minutes.
I would buy and keep. They will be useful to you in the future as long as they don't rust out badly.
Also, cables are made for emergency or required use. If you have all season tires with good tread, you probably won't even need them. I took my taurus up to tahoe last year, and was driving around town on white snow packed down just fine.

Tread carefully my friend, 2/3rds of the eastern side of the United States are having freezing temperatures worse than ever, if that isn't another attribute to the fakeness of global warming I don't know what is.
It's freezing so bad the farming situation over there is horrible.
