+1 for miata... you can pick up a 91 for about 3k... then just spend another 1k and buy a turbo

VW bug FTW. 240Z FTW. Both are great cars. Bugs are reliable and cheap, 240z are the old skool.

Both cars are presmog, so when you decide to put that LS1/SR20DET into the 240z never have to worry about emissions.

Seriously though, 3k doesn't buy you a lot but if you can find a decent 240z, people will instantly know you have taste. Not sure how much you wrench on your car, as with all old cars no matter how reliable it is you better have a toolkit in the trunk.

You can also get a nice condition MkI MR2 for that price... lots of people who own MkI and MkII seem to think the MkI is funner to drive.

i do a lot, so wrenching wouldnt be a problem. im going to UTI in the fall too, so heh. i've been looking into 240z's for about a year now. the only thing that concerns me about a car that old is RUST other than that..i love old school cars

but the wheels make the car! im not worried about it getting stolen at my house in sac...itll be garaged. if u do 3300 with the wheels..i may think about it

You can do it with alot of old school Toyota's. AE86 come to mind.

you can do it with hondas too, I "borrowed" my gfs car a few times using my old keys.
