Why not just go for a drop-in dry filter?

The oil will just make your car run rich for a little bit.... you don't need a cold air intake just run a drop in and snorkel delete.

K&N can leave an oil film on the MAF.
No real power to be had from any intake on a stock motor.
Save your money for an Accessport

The stock intake will be good till around ~350 whp
Save that money for a tune and just get a dry flow drop in, like the Blitz for $35

CAI's or Intakes in general have a "bad rap" on this board. But at least people are giving more opinions rather than just shunning the idea. It really depends on your $$ and what you want to do with the car. The basis of things is yes more air mixed with more fuel will obviously push bigger #'s, but from most peoples point of view, the real difference is made after you've usually upgraded everything else. When you're pushing bigger #'s and the restriction is the air flow that's when you'll see the bigger difference. As previously mentioned, usually the stock air box is big enough to move air to do what you want, and your money should be spent elsewhere first for a bigger power/$$ ratio.

But I'm not arguing for either part. It's your money, if you want to expand the intake on air first and do power upgrades after then do so. The rest of the myth this board has is again more of a personal choice.
