One of my greatest friends moved up to Cool recently and is living in a house on TONS of land. I don't really know how many acres, but it's a grip. Anyway, since he lives in Cool, my gf and I left our house and headed up I80 to Auburn, then went in to Cool via hwy 49 up from the North Fork of the American River.
Once we got there, he had a 4x4 jeep (CJ me thinks) and he, my gf and I hopped in and went 4 wheelin on the property. Through creeks and streams over pastures and through some wooded areas. His brother cruised with us on a Honda cx400 (I think that's the model). We were out there for about 3 hours. A lot of fun.
Then, on the way home, I turned left on 49 out of Cool and came home down Salmon Falls Rd. Roads weren't too busy, and the skies were clear. We had a great time - weather was just right, roads were great, Suby was performin great.
I think it's about time for a wentworth springs run, folks.

How was your Sunday?

I spent about 3 hours this morning writing route book instructions for Rim of the World, then came home the long way- N2 to Gorman then back roads up to Lost hills, 46 to Parkfield Grade, had a game warden stop me near the bottom and tell me " you gotta slow down there buddy" to which I replied "OK" and drove away.
Then took 198 to 25 up to Paicenes, Gloria road over to Gonzales, more backroads up to Santa Cruz and then 1 up the coast to home.
You are right it was a great day for a drive!

Woke up kind of hung over and began moving furniture out of my room cause it is getting painted tomorrow. Freaked out for a good 4 hours for a few reasons. Spent 4 hours doing a take home midterm. Finished all that around 9 and starting moving stuff out of my room again until about 20 minutes ago.
Not a good day. Glad you guys had fun though, sound like good drives.

I am jealous! Sounds like you had an AWESOME drive!
Me? I merely ran up Mines early Sunday morning, from Livermore just to Lick Observatory, hung out up in the visitor center, then ran back down into Livermore. The weather was IDEAL and the car was performing like a champ. The fog broke about 6-7 miles from Livermore, and had few bicyclists to avoid. The foilage up there this time of year is lush and green, and it isn't cooking hot yet. Perfect backdrop for some soothing, good-ol' Grateful Dead in the changer.
I'm praying the weather on 5-1 will be a mirror image of yesterday.
Another thing I thought about for the Coalinga/Parkfield/Cambria run..........with a line of cars running up the graveled Parkfield Grade.......gravel chips!!!
Sounds like my wife and I are going to camp out at Fernwood near Big Sur that Saturday evening.
