What "American cars" are really made in America?

NYtimes did their homework to show where today's cars built in North America really come from.

Pretty funny.. I have had friends who will only "buy American" and when this is said I ask "you mean made in America like a Camry or an American brand like my Camaro that was made in Canada?"

My dodge was made in Mexico, but the cummins engine was made in the USA. I think most are outsourced in one way or another.

Thats why the Chrysler superbowl commercial with Eminem featured the new 200, because it's made in Michigan. Everyone was going "Use the 300, duh!" but its actually built in Canadiastan.

Which one? My Tremek TR6060 was made in Mexico, and I think that's what the 6spd manual (Manuel?) is in the Mustang, Camaro, Challenger and the Viper.

It's become quite sad. They advertise a lot about supporting American-made, but it's really far from.

China practically owns us to. lol

I don't know, maybe the 5 speed is made in China but the 6 speed in Mexico? "U.S. (auto.); China (man.)" is all it says.

EDIT: The Shelby GT500 says the tranny is made in Mexico. Must be a 5 speed vs 6 speed thing.

Oh that's right... It's just the GT500 that gets the TR6060, I guess the rest get the crap tranny.

The question is not whether the parts are actually made here, but whether the majority of the money we pay is going to American companies, and into the American economy.
