This week's high and low

So the wife had an interview that went very well at a college After the one hour interview, a test was given and she answered it perfectly, to the last penny (accounting job). They actually had her go through a 2nd interview on the spot. They then offered her the job.

Well last night after she got home, apparently, she answered the test a little too well that now they are questioning the whole integrity of the test. 2 of the interviewers called our home, late at night and wanted to verify how she answered it so well. Apparently no one has ever answered this thing correctly and my wife already told them that this is how she calculates everything at her current workplace and told them how to do it over the phone, again. They are wondering how she came up with the solution that is the exact calculation. Now why would people give a test that they don't want anyone to be able to answer?

Well, it sucks that we thought it would be cool then all of a sudden it turns sour. Needless to say I am a little pissed at these folks and we have decided that she will be turning this position down. Would have been more money, but the good thing is they showed what type of people they are before she left her current job. Oh well. On to the next interview. They just lost a very smart, probably the most honest, God fearing, most organized and reliable person I know. To question her integrity was just way out of line.

Thanks for reading. I had to vent....

Yeah. I just think things happen for a reason and go with it. This was another one of those. Funny thing is they actually said she is so subdued that they needed someone like her in the office since everyone is so high strung. Now I see why.

that was their plan....to make her not want to take the job. Most people cant handle having someone in a lower position be smarter than they are.

He's right - this kind of thing is common, though I would suspect they realized that she IS so smart and good at it that they'd have rentention problems down the road.

Next time she takes a test I'll tell her to answer off by a couple million to make people feel better about themselves No wonder schools don't know where the money goes.

This is stupid...Once I got a high score on a Calculus exam in highschool, along with 3 other students...everyone thought we cheated, our scores put all of us into the top 0.3% of highschool students. This is unheard of, 4 in one class could score so well.

The teacher kept telling them, "They are my top students."

Anyways, they had 4 of us retake a much harder exam - we still aced it, all 4 of us scored better than 90%!

Only one question came back, how could they have cheated this one?
