It was a lot of fun though - especially teasing Peter 'The Teacher' Motaz about his wonder student

Very Nice Look Owlboogie
That remindes me,
when I was getting the car tech'd, one of the tech people said that my numbers had to at least 8" high. Mine were 4" I think. where does one find taller numbers. I've looked in hardware stores but haven't turned up anything.

"By The Letter of The Rules", yes the numbers need to be at least 8" high.
"By the Spirit of the Rules", the important thing is they need to be READABLE. If you've ever worked in the motorhome or tried to read car numbers while working course, you know that there are more than a few examples of, ummm, "non-readable" numbers out there
.
"Readable" not only covers the number size, but also the color/font. For instance, 12" high blue numbers on a WRB car are NOT readable. And white numbers do NOT work on a silver car! It can be very frustrating from a Timing and Scoring standpoint to deal with non-readable numbers
Even though OwlBoogie's numbers aren't 8" high, they are VERY readable.
I suspect that what will happen is that since it is hard to enforce a "By the Spirit of the Rules" type thing, they'll unfortunately be forced to enforce them by what is actually in the rulebook.

I think I figured out my problem.
The grease in my DMS 50s was contaminated by water and the grease broke down. That results in a kidney breaking ride 'cause the struts were binding badly by the time I reached santa cruz.
So in the mean time, I am trying the DMS 40's that no one bought...
