Wednesday night santa cruz mountain drive
It's gonna be beautiful tonight so i am making an invitation to all drivers who want to go for a drive up in the santa cruz mountains tonight. We will be meeting at the bottom of highway 9 @ the 76 gas station @ 8:30. IF you need directions just mapquest it. I will be up there and some friends with Miatas will be up there also.

yea, I was up there both days this weekend and I saw a few CHP out there and one was in the process of taking down a modded 300ZXTT. Personally i am more afraid of the deer than the popo at night.

where are you guys driving....route wise? You can PM me if you so choose...incase you're uber paranoid about monitoring or something.
I am from SC. I love driving over there. Just drove through old santa cruz highway last week.

We are thinking taking 9 down to 236 and then back up 9 and across 84 and then down pagemill? We usually figure out the route at the bottom before we go driving.

If today wasn't St. Patty's I would so be there...
Can I make a suggestion anyways though? Go past 236 until you get down to the school. Some of the tight stuff between 236 and the school is awesome. Nice little banked turns that you can just flick through. Just watch that hairpin...
You know the one I'm talking about.
Have fun guys, maybe next week I'll make it out.

ahhh, the hairpin... the most amazing thing I ever saw was a professional driver do the most beautiful FWD drift ever on that turn in a bone stock 91 celica.

Dude, that's impressive. I look at FWD drifting as roling dice. It's so hard to know exactly what those tires are gonna do when they have ZERO traction in the back. I was decent at sliding a standard 90 degree turn in my old hatch, but a full hairpin... Never had the ***** to try it.
