Web site critique: Flash haters stay away!!!
Yep my site is in flash. If you don't like flash then you won't like my site and you must at least try not to post at that point. Unless it's just to give me praise and bolster my ego (that's fine)
Otherwise let me know from a functionality and presentation standpoint how my web site looks.
I already have registered www.bayareatek.com but the DNS hasn't updated yet so it won't display the pages contents. This is my temporary web server. http://12.22.11.12
The company logo isn't done so I just put text in there. I will address that.

Try a different font. If you want someone to click on something it should be obvious. Make the area obvious, maybe a different color, maybe a box/separator around it... pick up a graphic design magazine or something and steal ideas... that's what I do!!! hahhaha!!!
Little too messy and I hate the fact that it resizes. Some random stuff is thrown in as well (such as the lava lamp). But nice work. Join GFX-Forums as well
Love to have some Subie owners on there.

Some of your images are too bitmapped (web samples)...you might want to clean that up a little. Font size doesn't work for me...feels too much in your face.
I like the color scheme, that was very well done...it fits with your business.
Pretty good start!

Ok good stuff so far keep it coming. I will definately then redo the navigation bar because it seems every has a hard time initially finding it.
As for the resizing it's so dang hard to please everyone. The majority of the word according to most recent studies has everyone using 800x600 resolution which I made the site in. It does resize itself to larger resolutions and does so cleanly, but perhaps on different machines it becomes too large? Either way there's almost no pleasing everyone. So I decided to go with the majority. They will be my market anyhow (the people who know nothing about PC's web design etc)
How are the load times? It shouldn't be bad since I broke the site into 4 movies. 1 of them is actually only 24k.
Oh and ratrace could you post a screen shot of what you're experiencing on my site. I didn't quite understand from your post and i'm trying to picture it.

Love to have some Subie owners on there.Agreed. Especially the Kaynz HTML button. That is definitely going to go. I just haven't had time yet to replace it. Again this site is still under heavy construction. All your input is important to making sure I don't turn anyone off while they are visiting.

So what would you guys think of something like this?
http://12.22.11.12/testnav.swf
http://12.22.11.12/testnav1.swf
Not to say I'll use these examples as they are I'm just trying concepts. But does it make it initially more noticeable?
I'll post more possibilites as I make them

Looks fine to me. Thanks for the pics though.
Sorry for my slow brain but yes, the text in the back that's covered by the monitor is deliberate. All it is, is a bunch of trash about what I do and how tight I am etc. It's just there for decoration. The information is posted on the others pages so no one is going to miss out on the important stuff.
Thanks for your input though.

Let me know which one you think is better or suggest a nav bar that works for you. Keep in mind it has to fit the theme and look of my site.
