Watch Out Fellow BA Drivers!
http://money.aol.com/insurance/auto/...r-theft-cities
As some as you guys may or may not have at some point experienced for yourself, or maybe have known or had a friend who has had their car stolen, it would not be hard to believe that the theft rates in the Bay Area are increasing.
I just saw on AOL today that Fairfield/Vallejo is ranked 19th in the U.S. for high car theft rates. SF, Sac, Stockton and Modesto also on the list. In 2007, there were 2738 thefts in Fairfield/Vallejo alone and yes, my car contributed to this statistic. It was jacked right in front of my damn house and stripped of everything...resulting with a "totaled" check written by my insurance due to expensive and unrepairable damages. It all seemed too coincidental since I've never had a problem with theft on my car and all of a sudden my alarm gave out and the next week, someone comes and steals my ride. And a week after my car was stolen, a person a couple blocks away from me also got their car stolen, not to mention my friend's car was stolen just last week as well.
I just wanted to say watch out for your guy's rides because there are a lot of disrespectful bastards out there who take other people's hard earned valuables. Honestly, people who steal are nothing but scums of the earth since they don't have the will or initiative to make money with proper hard work. I just hope that none of you guys experience this because it is one of the worst feelings...especially since our "justice" system just pats these criminals hands and send them right back out on the streets doing the same thing over again. Just want to look out for you guys and hope this situation can be resolved. Take care all and be careful.

My STREET had over 5+ car break-ins in the last month and now for the past week a police cruiser rolls by every other night. I'm glad they're finally doing something about it but i'm sure these nightly drive throughs will be short lived. Theres really nothing you can do except take it in the rear when it happens

^^ Yeah sadly, I've came to the realization that that is basically the only thing that you can do. It just irritates the hell out of me though.

I'm not exactly sure if I correctly understood what you said. But I'm guessing that you meant you are a supporter of those cities that were listed, but you don't support the effect of some of the "ghetto" places? In any case, I'm not knocking any of those cities since they are like home to me, but I'm saying that the environment should not be a justifiable excuse/motive to live a life of theft, etc. Yeah, I agree, it does affect such outcome but people choose to do what they do. In the end, I guess stuff like this won't ever disappear so people that actually are making a living are forced to bite their tongues...
There's no reason to bring ethnicity into this. It's usually those who are poor, or simply, with too much free time on their hands.
