Swift springs do a good job of lowering the car quite a bit without ruining your struts and making your car handle like crap. They are stiffer than stock, reduce body roll, and lower the car without creating any problems. I used to be able to run 255/45/17 tires on the stock ride height, but with the swift springs I'm rubbing up front... I can't imagine how much I'd rub if I had the Tein springs.

Sorry, I dont want to put less taste on my Audi. Besides, you need them a lot more than I do where you are.

And yes every lowering spring will kill stock struts over time. I know mine need to be changed but I don't quite have the cash to run the setup I want.
I'm on stock struts and I don't rub at all on my Tiens so..... iono. However they don't help with handling, they kill the struts, and nobody can see the "stylish" green springs. Tien S-techs suck. Although they look nice if you're one of those form over function guys.
I too would also recommend Swift springs.

Here's what my old car looked like on swift springs. Really solid ride, not to harsh, about and 1.5" lower and works fine with stock struts. Get some beefier sway bars and KYB AGX's and your set!

What struts, stock '04 STi?
RCE makes some low springs. Swift makes great springs as well that are pretty low, I'm running the wagon ones right now. Real JDM pinks will be low, but very stiff.
Most springs out there are junk. Assuming you have STi struts I'd go with Swift Spec Rs (probably not low enough for your liking, but you lower an STi a tad and you are on the bumpstops), Swift regular STi springs, then maybe look at RCE offerings. Prodrives are nice too (I'd go Prodrive before RCE) but probably won't be low enough for you either and you'll get the raked look which some don't like. And the rears are progressive which I would prefer not to have. Oh, if you can't find the STi Prodrives (they aren't made anymore), EPIC Engineering STi springs are built by same people and look to have same specs.
I'd ignore the rest of the options, honestly. Oh, and I've ran all the brands listed above on my car with WRX struts and Koni inserts.
