Warranty on Tires

Let me start out with I am happy with the stock tires with 75% tread on them or more. I have driven my car for nearly 11k miles and rotated my tires at 7.5k miles. My rear tires are nearly at the 2/32 or 1/16 mark with the tread. So i went into my glove box and got out my firestone tire maintenance and warranty booklet. According to the booklet I have 6 years of normal wear and tear covered by the warranty. So I come to wonder is this true? Do any of you guys know anything about this? I am looking foward to going to Firestone and getting a new pair for the back. Thanks

Ask for FOUR New ones, as you DON'T want to mismatch tire wear on an AWD vehicle. This is according to Kevin/Al at Carlsen.
When I got in my accident and wadded two tires, I just sold the remaining two and bought four new ones.
Anyway...I believe it says that in the owners manual also...I'd make them give me four.

As far as I know, on normal wear tires that have not experienced any catastophic failure, tha warranty calls for some sort of cash or credit allowance based on the amount of tread left.
