"Walmart Prices"
yeah but with a product like XBOX, microsoft could hold out on walmart then becuase walmart woudl have to buckle or they would lose a ton of money. other products i would say true, but not hot ticket items like gaming consoles. walmart would be stupid not to carry that product.
plus if they didn't hire sr. citizens and meth heads exclusively, they'd be a lot better.

people come in for those items but also see other things for sale and shop
that's how they make money, on the accessories and complimentary products

I hate Walmart because of the degenerates that crown the place... Not everyone there is, but a high percentage is ghetto *** people.
When I go to Walmart, I try to go to one that is in a good city, like Pleasenton, etc... Compare that to Union City or Oakland! Actually, the wally world in Oakland is far cleaner and much nicer then the Union City one. The UC one is GHETTO and everything is all messy as all hell... Blech! I'd much rather go to target and spend an extra .43 cents all together.
If I go, I always go SUPER late at night on the weekends, kike 2-3am to avoid the trash that is commonly found there.
One way to avoid this is to shop online. Walmart is cheap and the shipping is practically free online, so if you know what you want, just avoid the store all together.
Speaking of which, I need to pick up some fire logs right now at the Fremont Walmart (which is much nicer then most other Walmarts). A box of duraflame logs at Safeway = $26, price of same logs at walmart = $16, then I stock up and all is good.

problem with UC walmart is the 24 hour thing.
i see parents dragging their young kids in there late night during school days. i mean like 1-2am... and they are running around the store.
granted, i love the fact that i can get emergency crap at WM at 2am... imagine your toilet leaking like crazy and running to WM to pick up stuff to fix it...

Umm... more money = more debt... right now for every dollar you have, you probably owe 3-4 bux for each dollar... why?
Money is made out of thin air. Yessir.... 97% of money is digital. only 3% is dollar bills (btw, if you think about what a dollar bill is... we're just playing a real life game of Monopoly and we are the peons controlled by rich Bank executives)
In any case, feast your eyes on REALITY!

But there are ways to get around this. To keep the manufacturer from finding out, you'll routinely see things like the MAP on a seller's website, but then they'll tell u to put it in your shopping cart to see the discounted price that's below the MAP. Or in the case of forums, a vendor will say, "pm for price" or "too low to advertise" etc.

One time I went to Walmart to buy a really cheap charcoal grill. Couldn't find them so I asked an employee, and they said they had no idea and they were on break, so ask someone else. Went over to another employee to ask, and they asked me if a charcoal grill is a shirt or a shoe...

There is a price society pays for Wal-mart. I know it helps people that cant otherwise afford things, but what are the 'trash', 'ghetto' people buying in wal-mart? Not necessities, they are buying cheap crap for their kids, etc (thanks to America's emphasis of materialism). Walmarts employees are treated terribly, and it goes further than that. Walmart forces its suppliers to annually decrease their prices by 5%, and they have such great power, suppliers have to comply, or Walmart will replace them... essentially strangling their own suppliers. (Surprised foreign suppliers pay and treat THEIR workers terribly???)
Sam Walton, founder of Walmart, lived to cut costs, whatever way possible, and at the expense of others. Walmart's policy hasn't changed, and likely won't. And now with our economy's state, according to the Wall Street Journal,Wal-mart is making a killing.
As the largest corporation in the world (http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/global500/2008/), at what expense has it gotten there? Though the business world is cruel, and 'dog-eat-dog', I don't agree with Wal-Mart, and believe its enormous power should be used in a more constructive way, not completely, (blindly) focused on bottom line.
Happy Holiday's! Unless you're a college student, struggling financially, or have another excuse (like its the only place to shop within 20 miles, because Walmart has destroyed the 'mom and pop' shops that America was built on) choose to shop somewhere else.
My $.02
