Looks like you're halfway out of the woods, bankman. Keep it up and good luck coming out clean!

Wow, hadn't heard the full story. Good luck. With the twilight times and your testimony I can't see the judge doing anything but throwing the case out and chewing out the cop.

UPDATE!!

I went to the SF courthouse today, and the misdemeanor charge of not obeying an officer has been officially DROPPED! So now I have a court date for 9/9 to please not guilty to the lights-off violation.

Never give up hope!

mucho respect from me bankman...

sfpd are the most corrupt motherf'ers and you never hear any of it. LAPD and NYPD always get the big stories, but some of the **** that gets printed in the SF Chronicle about the SFPD makes me go.... WTF?

remember the Taco Bell incident?

are you talking about the fajita incident with ***an Jr.? his luck finally ran out somewhere in arizona where he and ***an Sr. the former police chief got in a barroom brawl and then tried to pay the local cops off to ignore the incident...but they weren't in san francisco any more so they got arrested and basically fired for bribery in addition to other past incidents.

You know either way, the cop has won. No skin off his back, and he's given you something to think about. Although I've wanted to do it a 1000 times, I wouldn't have done what you did. Justice says that you should not have any punishment coming to you - my guess is that you won't. Besides, that's not what the cop was looking for. He just wanted to show you that he can give you a harder time than you can give him. And he was right, and he made it clear. Sucks.

You reap what you sow - the cop will get his some day.

like i said.. he has made some mistakes since high school. i'm sure it was the alcohol. he should stay away from it. personality-wise, when he's normal.. he's a good guy. unless he's completely changed in the last 8 years since i have seen him. but i'll give him the benefit of the doubt. i'm sure everyone in here knows at least 1 belligerent drunk. everyone makes mistakes. do i agree with what he did? hell no. but i just want to convey to everyone passing judgement that he's actually a decent guy. this is coming from someone who knew him and kicked it with him during our off-period.
