I still wouldn't consider it an independant company. It is still owned my Fuji Heavy Industries and makes ONLY subaru parts. Much as AMG is not an independant company from mercedes, though it was about 12 years ago before Diamler-Benz bought it, even though it manufactures more than just cars.

Okay then... how is putting a V-Tec sticker on a non-vtec car the same as putting an STi sticker on a non-sti car? V-Tec doesn't make any parts... so you cant be like "I have V-tec suspension"... with STi however, you can.
