Tv's may never get cheap for us californians?

Wonder if this will end up costing the consumer a ton more when buying a new tv.

It will only effect plasmas right off the bat and those are garbage anyway. But now what do you say to the person that has a solar powered home? Why does he have to buy a certain type of TV?

Seems to me that this is just another CA law that is passed to make us look 'good' but comes back to bite us in the ***.

The industry is heading this way anyway, lower power consumption is being legally mandated in a lot of the EU and more and more of the rest of the world anyway, combined with the direction general trend in which big TV prices are heading down fast, I think any "increase" in purchase price (more likley a slow down in the rate of "less expensive designs every 3 months") will be more than offset for the consumer by the reduced cost of operation.

This will pretty much kill plasmas in store after next year. They won't be able to reduce power consumption to 33% or 49% of what it is today.

I like how if it's 59" or bigger there is no regulation... meaning high end owners or those with money can still easily get what they need and custom integrators who make a killing on this **** can still rake huge profits. But regular joe consumers cannot buy a 42" plasma anymore after next year off the shelf.

Stupid...

Polution and energy capacity is a huge problem for the state of CA. That's why we have some of the most stringent polution and efficiency laws. I think Europe is even worse. But I beleive it's for the good of everyone. Can't wait till >15mpg big *** SUVs are banned from the road...Plasmas are much less efficient than LCD, but there are research efforts into increasing the efficiency.

Um, so what pollutants do big *** SUVs put out in significantly greater numbers than a car, other then CO?

Just a quick question, do you run catless or have thought about doing so?

and btw, the reason that CA has as strict car emission laws is so that CARB can sell pollution credits to corporations and allow them to increase their factories emissions.

its the only way the EPA would allow them to do it. It has nothing to do with CARB actually worrying about the environment.

Your exactly the type of retard that makes me want to pollute MORE, just to **** you the **** off.

In fact I think I will, I hereby end all recycling in my home, it all goes in the trash from now on. (it already does, recycling is bull****)
