Turbo oil supple mesh screen

I was wondering if any of you guys have either removed your oil mesh screen or clean it every oil change? I was browsing Amsoil's website and I found the old bulletin on oil starvation due to the clogging of that mesh screen and I was wondering what everyone else is doing on the matter?

It's called the banjo bolt. Popular idea on the Lgt forums to remove it to increase oil flow, but if something is making your oil dirty there is a chance particles that get through can shred your turbines.

One of
The leading lgt gear heads made an in line oil filter that is more fine than the stock banjo bolt.

Pull that little bugger out. The oil starvation issue is real and more dangerous than the debris

There is a Subaru bulletin to remove that as well. I think most performance parts/tuners also remove that screen of death.

Do you remove the screen and put the bolt back or do you buy another one that doesn't have the filter in it?

Which models does this include? Only STI's or WRX's as well?

This applies to most EJ255 and 257 motors. Dunno about 2.0L motors.

That is incorrect. The bulletin says that you must clean or replace it, not remove it.

In fact, any time a turbo is replaced on a vehicle Subaru requires an oil flush and replacement of the banjo bolt and screen.

Reading is fun, kids!

That is the fastest one I have found. There are others. But this one gets the point across. That is why I posted it.

I could pull them all up, but I won't. They do not say to remove the screen.

I'd prefer not to wait till the turbo has to be replaced before removing and cleaning the screen. I think I might just take it out altogether. It's one of those, " damned if you do it, damned if you don't" kind of thing.
