This is going to open up the door for "reunion" tours of bands that have members who are dead. I'm really surprised the grateful dead hasn't done this already. Soon artists wont even go to venues they will send their 3D self's and we will get charged more too.

Agreed!!

And that partly is why I said what I said in my first post. You basically are PAYING to go sit in an extremely crowded venue to listen to them play a bunch of .mp3 files and watch some stupid digital rendering of someone.

...stupid

Yup, its lame. I wonder how snoop really felt and what he was thinking while he was up on stage performing with "Digital 2Pac".

Thought this was awesome. Dre called for 2Pac and Nate Dogg, but I guess it was too soon for Nate to be up there. I'm prepared to see this be well over abused though. It'd be cool if we were able to see Hendrix, Lennon, etc at some point!

This makes more sense, Bring an animated character to stage more so than having a holograph of a dead artist performing.

Like the Starwars Pic

IIRC, Gorillaz was using a method similiar to this during their live shows at one point

I watched this on youtube last night. Dre and Snoop's set was dope (pun intended) and the folks they brought out were pretty cool (50 Cent, Eminem, Kurupt).

I do want to say that the crowd was pretty lame. Bunch of dorky college kids holding up their cell phones or cameras to record everything instead of rocking out with their C)#Ks out. That's what I would have been doing at least.

They record to remember after coming down of all the drugs

I've actually used this technique before
