It's a long haul from the South Bay but Ed@EQTuning does good stuff. I'd highly recommend paying them a visit if you can make the drive. They were my first shop and continue to be my only shop. GST is probably most convienent for your location. I expect there will be plenty of raves for all three shops posted shortly.
Check out the meets board to find one that works for you.

^ Every shop is going to have bad press. Sometimes a few people feel the need to spread rumors and exaggerate things for whatever reason, especially over internet forums. I-club has it's share of drama llamas.
I have a great tune that Ed programmed onto my ECU, and it's exponentially better than the base map I had loaded. Power is way up, driveability is smooth and predictable, and I feel it could have cost twice as much for its refinement. In my opinion, the folks who propagate those negative threads about EQ tuning do so for the drama rather than anything constructive.
GST and Equilibrium tuning are your best choices, and my personal recommendation is Equilibrium. Absolutely worth the drive from the cruz.

In no particular order:
GST Tuning - Mike
EQ Tuning - Ed
Vishnu Tuning (fell from the "popular" list a while ago, but did an EXCELLENT JOB on our tune)
Method 4 Tuning - Lie, Cheat, Steal, and screw their employees - their 4 methods of separating their customers from their hard-earned money from what I hear, so definitely use a LOT of caution if you're so inclined to think you won't get ripped off.

^Thread for interesting reading - for those who'd like to know what I base my OPINION on.
