Thanks doodoo I looked at the link but I think that info is only if you have multiple accounts or modems. I just have a single modem but I want to know if I can accomplish the same thing by using multiple nics.

dude...
that's the limit unless you wanna pay extra for their 6Mbps service.
whattaya downloading anyways??? lol...
remember, it matters on what's the other end. if some schmoe is running a server from their house, like via comcast, which has the upload cap at around 300Kbps, you are stuck at that...
and MCOWGER is right. comcast will limit imcoming speed to ANYONE's house. unless you pay extra.
oh i see... pR0n... i guess the most B/W the better... lol....

edit: sometimes this is the only reason i keep showing up for work: 25658 / 14321 from dsl reports...

Yes I know there is a limit guys, my point is the limit is per-IP, it is not a modem cap. As I said both my brother and I can be downloading at the same time, both at 500k a second, which is a combined speed of 1000k a second or 8000 of whatever units dslreports uses. What I was trying to determine is if two nics in the same computer could be used to simulate two different computers/IPs making requests from the modem.

The limit is per modem. You are mistaken as to the speeds, the units, or being fooled by caching of some sort or via some other method. DOCSIS 1.1 (the cable modem standard, and the implemtation used by comcast) does not have ANY view of your IP address.
It just plain doesn't know.
