Has anyone had theirs disconnect or stop working? Had it happen to my 06 sti this week, not sure if this is a common problem or not.

Thanks!

Yeah there is.

On the metal locking mechanism attached to your trunk, there's a little metal tab that moves up and down on the right side of the latch. Check what position it's in.

Me too. I use to carry a lot of Medical Herb with me at times and I have since kept it disabled. Also makes me feel a whole helluva lot better knowing that if I get pulled over while transporting my Firearms in my trunk I can not catch any grief for having my trunk easily accessed but that is just me. Yes I know I can kinda get in trouble for the whole Card and Firearms, but I do not have a Card anymore or transport that stuff anymore. Ever since I started buying Firemars this last November I have been so paranoid as to not even attempt to speed or go past a yellow light at the intersection. Just afraid of getting in trouble and or having firearms in my car and being asked about them and where I am going ro coming from

Only had that happen to me once, it was kinda scary too! I was taking my neighbor to SF and her luggage was in my trunk and we hit onramp off Estudillo and 580 about 80 or so and I could see my wingless trunk fly open for a second as the wind quickly closed it back enough to not lose her luggage I am still using the stock trunk springs off the STi trunk since I just taped up the holes from the wing, but that was like an oh **** feeling for me. Pulled over and beat my monkey for a minute or two until I got diiiiiirtyyyy looks as I was on the side of the freeway beating it pretty hard Sorry that was just too damn funny to pass up

haha, I memer when I had my STI wing and I traded it for a wingless, I would never even bother using my trunk release without the key, but one time we did it with some oranges to see how far they would catapult, we got one damn near 2 car lengths!
