truck broken into-read

ok,2 weeks ago some ****bags who live around the corner from me broke into my truck. i have a camper on the bed for deer season and both sliders were open BUT the bed was full of tree branches,so its not like that was a easy option. i was leaving the following day to take all the branches to my parents and burn them. i also had ALL my hunting gear(ammo bag,day pack, spotting scope/stand,tools ect). also had my scan gaugeII,2-gerber multi tools in my center console. and guess what the Dbags stole, the ipod. yes, thousands of dollars in gear and they took the ipod. yes i got off easy but it gets better. the little ****bag made it a point to be using the ipod when he walked infront of my house and started laughing when he passed. ive had more than one issue with them and i plan on nipping it in the bud. i plan on doing the following.

come this friday there will be a best buy bag sitting on my dash. im going to hide in the back all nite and catch the bastards redhanded. when they attempt to violate my truck they will be met with my humble charm.

i will give them ample time to yell for help while i call VVPD.
ive also installed 2 cameras with street view and vehicle view.

would beating their kidneys till they cry for their mommy a bad thing?

Where does one draw the line? If you suspect your neighbor of stealing your crap, and you do something to catch them, it has to be pre-meditated, but how is that wrong so long as you do them no harm? It sounds like he plans to detain them so that law enforcement can handle the situation as was mentioned. Must you only catch criminals by accident? Genuinely curious and I completely understand some of the other things that have been mentioned on here that were no-no's. Just.. This one, I don't get it I guess.

I am sure he was joking about the kidneys.

As long as you record the suspects doing the actual crime, you got enough evidence to have the police arrest them.

I hope it all works out.

Happy hunting! Nothing like hunting the ultimate prey, right? Good luck and I hope they meet their justice...whatever it might be.

I was talking about the engine revenge thread.

I guess to me it sounds like the plan is to beat some kids ***. That's the bit that I wouldn't tell the internet about. I'd be down for catching someone in the act and holding them 'til the cops show up, sure. I've done the same. I just took it as an implied beating.

I hope you catch them. A buddy of mine just had his brand spankin' new yukon denali broken into. They left his ipod and $200 cash and instead took his third row seats.
