You guys can laugh all you want, I can vouch for Kyle's driving ability.
He threw it down in his mostly stock RS at the auto-cross last weekend. Most of the quicker WRX drivers were putting down 71.5 to 73.x times while Kyle put down 71.8x in an NA 2door RS.
He has 175~HP/trq. and I have about 290HP with a quicker then most spooling turbo(MBC does wonders for spool).

At a certain point you guys have to think about things like "power to weight ratio" and "low center of gravity" as things that factor in to driving.

Power doesn't mean it can handle, yes it is a porsche, but who here has driven one to it's limits?
The thing is a pig at 5200lbs, and 450HP. Add on the fact it is higher in the air then any subaru car.

Add to that that Kyle is an excellent driver, his story is entirely possible.



PS - Kyle, if I swap my cars guts for an STi you should buy my old stuff.

yeah matt is right a 5200lb@450HP is =to 225HP in a 2600lb car which is close enough to mine, i think the 2.2L is like 2800-3000 or something, i dont know.

even MORE important than pure numbers, someone driving out of there powerband is at a disadvantage when i was efficiently using all 145 HP keeping my revs up. i dont know mightve helped a bit, but theres a big chance that leadsled was an automatic.

...sigh...if only the mercedes owners knew what they could accomplish if their AMGs didnt weigh 4000+lbs! wait this discussion sounds familiar...? AHHH! LOLLLLLL

yeah...tonight is supposed to be some huge *** storm and ****, but so far I haven't really heard much wind...who knows what'll happen once I hit the hay in about 5 minutes though...

 

there are trees and tree bits ALL over santa cruz county right now. My driveway is water. My basement will flood before tonight is over for sure if we don't get some bags down there. I just hope the overhang doesn't come down on my caddy.

yeh, I had a 15 footer from that tree fall on my car, scratched it in a couple places...I went out there and kicked the **** out of that thing the next morning when i work up...unfortunately it was ineffective...
