Transmission ghost town
Well, the transmission forum is a dusty, desolate place.

Ah I think I know what you're describing...just the driveline lash of the WRX/SubaruAWD...when you take your foot off the gas there are a lot of gears that have load on them that have to settle down. The WRX is not the smoothest of cars when you come off the throttle jerkily.

no no, foot totally off the gas - only really happens in stop and go traffic and in first gear. When i left off the car sort of jerks foward, and slows, but like its hitching on somthing....gah, i can't explain it.

OK, cool - thanks for the info - that makes sense. I was worried that maybe i had done something wrong or whatever - i like to think of myself as a good driver as i grew up racing things - but i definetley dont put it past myself to screw somthing up.
edit - btw, this is my first WRX, and ive only had it for a few weeks - before i had a bulletproof OBS - so i just wanna make sure that im treating my new baby right.

Our cars were made to be driven hard. I haven't heard of many engines blowing, it's just the trannies that are having trouble with all the power.
