I've been at an Auto-X at Lockheed when an F16 did a full throttle takeoff @ Moffett... stopped the whole event. The Vette on course stopped dead in it's tracks; the drive thought he'd popped the engine the sound was so loud.

And I'm a fan of the F100 Super Sabre as well.

hehe, my old ROTC Lt. Col. was a navi for the F4 back in Vietnam and his son (from what i heard a few years back) is a F15 pilot instructor....pretty awesome family and yeah, F4s are sweet. Too bad the military uses them as targets nowadays...(im more of a F15/F5 type of guy) 


I always found the F15 ACTIVE and F15 IFCS variants to be fascinating as well.

The F4 is the first plane I ever fell in love with. I loved it so much I bought a model kit and spent a whole summer building it. That was the first time I remember being patient with ANYTHING. I did every book report/art project I could on the F4 for the whole year after that.
