Talking What a bunch of idiots!

First off Rally is a real mans racing. Drifting looks cool but they change their tires more than they fill up their gas tanks. I do agree that rally really teaches you to recover if you get sideways, but these guys are gonna kill somone if they aren't careful.

Back when I was 18 we used to run Hwy 35, and woodside road like wackos. We were doing it in Isuzu Impulses, Ford Probe GT's, and RX-7's. Man those were the days... We lost to of the vehicles up there due to black ice since we would only run at night when the roads were clear. Still REAL stupid, but it was nice remembering.

The Japanees drifting group did make it out to the States once for a demo, but the the SCCA saw it's potential and started formula D. I still perfer watching the WRC though. Just wish they would get the women from NOPI on there though..

I would like to see SCCA or other groups working with the cities and counties to maybe close mountain roads once in a while for some controled canyon runs. I think it would be way cool and we would all be in line to sign a waiver on our cars life etc!! I just don't think anyone with any influence has taken tht etime to explore the options.

Like for example whenever I see a rock the size of my head sitting the road, I know just what to do...

And ruin a perfect opportunity to get another battle scar on the skid plate?

I agree... I've learned a ton about my car by pushing it off road. But those guys are just stupid. Drifting on the street is the worst fad in years. My sister's a coroner for santa clara county. Always going to random accidents down the side of a cliff up hwy 9 with skid marks on every corner. Not safe.

and it cracks me up watching stupid people who do stupid things try and justify them by attempting to act smart...

What they are doing is dumb as ****, if they had the roads blocked off it would be a bit different, and of course emts close by yada yada yada..

That car was the BOMB! I know Rod Millen (father of Rhys? The GTO drifter and the rally racer) went up that thing with a modded celica one year and then a modified toyota "tacoma" which didn't look like a tacoma but the old celica with the tacoma look. Also, I do remember suzuki having a 2 ENGINE car going up Pikes Peak one year.
