Why didn't you take it to MPJ? They would have done it for half that!

 

I drive from san jose to them. well worth it.

 

werd, Lic and gruppe-s are the only local shop's I trust.

I can vouch for that, they did one for me on a 2000 and it was only 140$ and i bought the parts my self, 80$ (dealer price cause daddy works @ a dealership and gets a discount on parts)

 

if you took it to carlsen, you were only a few blocks from AHQ, and Kevin appears to know his way around a subie as well...

 

+1 for that exact reason...never been down to gruppe-s mainly because i dont feel like driving from vacaville down to hayward and back

 

another +1 for MB Motorsports (MPJ is the parts side).

Should have called/emailed/pm'ed gino for his input. I do not doubt they would have done it for half the dealership cost, plus a great shop to get to know. They are in Hayward.

 

Sadly, by the time I realized it an hour later, they were already on the 2nd wheel bearing before I could stop them. Gah, this is the only time I've ever complained about a mechanic's competence. If it was a crappier place, I woulda gotten more time to stop the work from being done and get my car back. =/
