Test Only Smog and Regular Smog are the same test. 100% identical! If you HAVE to go to a test only center, and your car is 2000+, that mean they(BAR) picked your car ramdomly. Nothing more. Test only centers can SMOG any vehicle that need smog in Cali. If its Test & Repair, they can NOT smog vehicles that require to go to Test Only Center. BUT if its a GOLD Shield Station, they can smog ANY vehicle that needs smog in Cali too... Its confusing at first BUT its really simple...

If you guys are so worry about failing, why not do the Pre-Test FIRST? That way you'll know all the reading and what pass and what doesn't?

Newer Cars nowadays have alot cleaner tailpipe emission, cat or not. You'll be surprise...

Email me for more detail info. I've been doing SMOG/Smog repair for over 6 years and wrenching for over 15 now so... and If you want me to do the pre-test I can do that for you too... and if it pass the pre-test, we'll do the actual test.

how are the NoX levels on E85? Would seem that would knock them up a bit?

NOx wasn't even listed on my sheet. I was curious too. Just had CO2%, O2%, HC, and CO (with only HC and CO having specified limits) Usually that which reduces HC and CO increases NOx, so I suspect it was high, but have no data to share.
