how are those eagle F1 tires?

i have the BFgoodrich G-Force T/A KDW2's and im lovin them. 300 treadwear and lots of grip to give in the wet or dry.

they are great. They really shine in the rain though. Probably the best tires in the rain. Back then when all the storms were hitting nonstop, the tires barely slipped, even when driving fast in pools of water The tread pattern on the tires really help divert water away.

As for the dry they are really good too. I haven't tried s-03's yet but the F1's are probably a notch lower than S-03's in the dry. But for the price, it has a better treadwear rating and is cheaper than s-03's, making them a pretty good buy for summer tires.

For autocross in the dry, the RS-2 is still a lot better . In the wet, the GS-D3 will be better.

Downside to the GS-D3 is the sidewalls are (relatively) soft. It'll stick and gives good ride comfort, but the feedback won't be there compared to other tires.

I need a dedicated auto-x tire for cheap so it will be these or the used R-S2s.
wouldnt you want something wider for autox?

I get the feeling that the Goodyear F1 GS D3's are perfect for people like me: own's ONE car that needs to be EVERYTHING: daily driver, commutor, weekend fun.

The D3's give good grip and are a good comprimise between dry performance, wet performance, comfort, low noise, tread wear, and price. Yokohama ES100's are like this too.

Jack of all trades, Ace of none.

I beleive the yoko ES100's are the leading cause of WRX crashes.

I had to think about that one for a second... is that because of (intentional) dorifuto?

no, the ES100s are crap. They are fine for round town driving, but if you get spirited at all with those tires you're asking for trouble.

^ no youre right about that. i used to have them for a short while, and while they were ok and held the road, its a pretty low end summer tire.

lol, maybe its my driving thats gotten better but I agree about the es100's.

I can push my current Dunlop SP5000's (all-seasons) harder on 16x7 wheels than my old 17x7's with the yoko es100's.
