Tint laws are not some grand conspiracy by the cops to keep you guys from looking cool.
In addition to protecting law enforcement officers during traffic stops, tint laws are there to make the roads safer. I don't know about you guys, but I can't read minds (despite my girlfriend's wishes). I need to see what other drivers are doing at intersections and in the lane next to me. It's called defensive driving.

there are no VIN# on the ticket...the plates swapping has worked time and time before....im not saying go out and do it if you dont feel comfortable
another secret is to just pay the fine online, $70 something.... you dont have to remove the tint and have a cop to sign it off

Well...another option is to just sell my tinted windows to someone w/o from tinted windows who wants them....
I mean, considering its lifetime tint, you cant complain as long as the windows come out easy.
I mean, i know alot of you just tell me to rip it off, but I guess you guys dont have sensitive eyes and a black car. Im not asking how to avoid the ticket...im just asking if there is a way to get it signed off without removing the tint.
Oh, and I only have 35% up front, even on a cloudy day you can see in my car if you just look. Along with being able to see in at night if I turn on my dome light.

I call BS on the pig telling you that it's a mandatory fine. But do post back when you get the ticket.

Will do, and I too got the feeling that the cop was telling me that its a mandatory fix just because he can....but in all honesty the cop was pretty cool (he was pretty close to my age I would guess) when I was asking him questions, and I told him...."my front windows are not THAT dark (50%), but they LOOK really dark because, A: its dark outside and B: because my rear windows are super dark (5%)." He actually had me rollup my windows and looked through them to see what I was talking about, and he AGREED with me....and he even told me that my car "looked really good.......BUT, its the law and he has to enforce it"....which I understand, he was just doing his job. <shrug>
I will post up more details when I actually get the ticket in the mail......its been 1 month and 5 days....and nothing yet....however, I DID get a notice of CORRECTION in the mail from the PD.....the first cop, that actually gave me the ticket, wrote the WRONG VEHICLE CODE on the ticket!
but since they caught it and sent the notice of correction the ticket is STILL VALID.....

I would either take off the tint, get it signed off and retint or just pay the $75 fine.
not sure how much the glass would cost. and swapping plates is not worth it. think about what if they check the vin. then you and the person who agreed to swap with you are in big trouble.

id say just obey the law, unless you have a vaild medical reason to provide the officer with.
The entire reason behind the law is for officer safety. Put yourself in the cops shoes.
Im entering my police academy on the 28th, and i know when i get out, i dont want to walk up to a car and have someone pointing an Uzi at my face from behind the tinted windows.
Pay the fine, fix your windows.
When you put your tint on, you KNEW it was illegal, and you KNEW there could be consequences for your actions.
We all take risks like this (Exhaust, Turbos, Intakes, intercoolers, the works) and unfortunatly, from time to time we have to pay for breaking the law. its the way things work.
did i mention i personally dont like tint =)

I must be lucky. I've been driving with 45% tint all around since I've gotten my car, and I've never been hassled about it. I always make sure both front windows are down when I get pulled over not only because I'm worried about a tint ticket, but it creates a safer environment for the officer which creates a greater chance I don't get a ticket.
I'm think if you have an optometrist note stating you have sensitive eyes to sunlight, you can have a reasonable tint on your car's windows, however I'm not positive. That was always my back up plan, because my mom has sensitive eyes and skin to sunlight, so I could always get her note for my tint.

yes i understand that i broke the law, i commited a crime... i didn't ask for your advice, but thanks for your input. dont worry if you are walking up to my window after you pull me over, my windows would be down already like im sure 99% of the people out there, and i promise i wont have an uzi or any other type of harmful weapon, but thanks for reminding me that what i did was wrong and unjust. btw i'm not complaining about my consequences; of course there has to be some kind of universal standard in the system.
Thanks for your crappy input
