is this timing belt tensioner working properly?

Brand new just installed. Does it have the proper pressure? Didn't drop very much when i pulled the pin.

Check the tension on the belt to see if any part of it feels loose.

did you crank it over by hand a couple time with a ratchet? that usually gets the loose spots out of the belt and drops the tensioner down a bit more

You are good.
I did timing belt on Legacy few days ago and pin was in the same position. That's the way it's supposed to be

Like Krinkov mentioned, turning it over by hand will smoothen things out. Usually after you pull the pin, it wont just drop down to the point where it is snug tight like the previous belt tensioner. Running the motor will make the tensioner adjust the tension accordingly.

also if thats a PE belt its suppose to not stretch as much as the OE belt, so the tensioner wont drop as low, thats how it was with mine.
