Time for a new cell phone, which one to get?
i sort of want a iphone but since everybody already has one, i dont really want to hop on the bandwagon. so my choices are the samsung omnia or the blackberry storm both with verizon. does anybody have either of these phones that can tell me some basic pros and cons to them. also i know that iphone has tons of apps that you can download for free, does either the omnia or storm have free apps too?

My mother-in-law has an iPhone, and I've never once had a conversation with her using that phone which hasn't dropped. I'm not sure if it's an AT&T thing in Marin, or if it's the phone's fault. Either way, I wouldn't consider an iPhone for that reason. Plus I've had terrible experiences with AT&T wireless in the past. ymmv.
Find what works best for you. Not cause it's some status symbol, or cause everyone else has one, or to "fit in"... Get what works.
I'm picking up an iphone 3g thursday/friday. This after long criticism, thought and comparison. It's the right phone for me, my work, my side work and just overall my lifestyle. It's going to increase my productivity and make life easiler.
If I could get what it does in apps and interweb in a similar package and ease of use, I'd definitely be getting something other than an iphone. But for me, it's what's gonna work best.

well, depends on how you're going to use it but as for me, i got treo w/ windows mobile because i can load emulators on and play snes/nes/gba, etc on my phone during bart commute

Ask yourself this: Do you want a fashion accessory? OR Do you want something functional?
If you want some cute little phone to stuff in your murse, get one of those LG's. If you want a phone that can actually get **** done, get a HTC Tilt or Blackberry Curve.
