i'm with wingless here....it does look better, but it's not worth the hassle of getting pulled over.

Aya

I got the ticket over a month ago with Bruce and crew over on highway 9. Deadline is Thursday so I'm going to head over to the local highway patrol office today I think and see if I can get it taken care of.

I've been doing well. I'm headed to Korea on Saturday for two weeks! Gonna spend some time with the g/f Other than that and the occasional surfboard hitting my car, everything has been pretty mellow.

My friend has been runnin w/o plates in the front for almost 4 years now, and he hasn't gotten a single ticket (maybe cuz its a C43 AMG *shrug*) but i think you might be able to get by without a front plate if:

You didn't have a monster hood scoop
You didn't have that tower of a wing
If it wasn't the holiday season where we all need to go into turtle mode to avoid the man.

Unless this isn't Chad with the STi, then i retract my first two if's

The piece of mind i get with my front plates on (and looking slightly 'uncool'" is far better than getting pulled over and getting cited for something stupid like no front plate. I'll take my "wtf you looking at copper i'm totally regulation" over the "but it looks cool officer, i'll put it right back on!"

That sucks.

But ya, just put it back on and leave it on... Its not worth it, especially cause it may not "look good" but when your driving you never see the front of your car anyway

So here's an update. I got the ticket signed off but they say I still have to give it to the people at the courthouse (which is in san jose, grr). So I call up the courthouse and try to find out some details. I get this stupid recording saying that their hours are mon-thu 8am-7pm (I was calling at 5pm) and it just repeats forever, meaning I couldn't speak to anyone by phone. Also, funny enough, when I punch in the citation number to pay by credit card, it has my name listed wrong. My last name is Kunsman but they have it as Kunswan, and it's written on the citation as Kunswan as well (I never noticed before). I thought that if they fsck up on a ticket it is null and void? What's the situation here?

i leave my front plate off

if you get pulled over for say. . speeding, the officer may be nice and just write you a ticket for the no plate and not ding you for speeding
Surely, you jest.

Ok. Boy does the court system and/or CHP really have **** screwy. I *just* got my courtesy notice in the mail and it says my due date is now sometime in February of 2004! Way to make me sweat bullets. Guess I can just safely mail it in now.

I'd rather look cool, avoid red-light camera tickets, and coppers trying to get my plate # in hot pursuit activities.

Believe me. I've gotten out of more tickets due to no front plate.

I'm glad it works for you. If it works that well, than don't ever stop doing what you're doing.

I've got both plates on and have never been pulled over in my rex for any reason so this works for me.

Front plates on for me: gives me a place to attach my front bumper guard (AKA the "sponge" as Eggettes crew knows...)
