Any shop open / have time tonight or early tomorrow?
I'm screwing up my turbo-back install and think its time to toss in the towel before I lose a hand. It sounds like I have a leak at the downpipe, as a big psssh sound is coming from the engine bay under boost (and boost doesnt hit like it used to). At this point I'd be happy to pay for someone's expertise in making sure Im not mucking up my baby. I've got free time tonight (past 7) and early tomorrow (before 10am) if someone has a wrench (actually I have those too).

this really isnt something you should be paying a shop to do.... It is really rare to see a leak from the turbo to downpipe. Make sure you put on all gaskets and you tightened all the nuts. Remember there are 2 nuts/bolts on the top, 2 on the side, and 1 on the bottum.

yeah, I'm going to check everything tonight again but for my own sanity it wouldnt hurt to have someone else's opinion. I made sure I got all five of those bolts. It is possible Im hearing a different leak. I doesnt give the sound when Im parked, only under hard boost. I also put back on my old blow off valve, so a leak is possible there as well.
I thought I had a leak when I installed my downpipe, it turns out that it was just turbo spool! I never really focused on the sound until it started to get noticable. I went to a shop and he laughed and said it was turbo spool and was perfectly normal. But if you do have a leak, just tighten the bolts or get a new gasket.
And your blow off valve shouldn't be leaking... it's really hard to not be able to screw those on tight enough.

hehe, I was putting the stock bov back on. I'm going to go back over everything myself tonight and see how things go. I have a appt with i-speed on monday so if I dont square things by then, they'll hopefully have time to check it out before my tune.

Most likely, is just turbo boost that you're not used to hearing.
BTW, reset your ECU. If you didn't, part of what may be happening now is that the turbo is spooling so much faster than before that the ECU doesn't quite know what is going on. As a result, it'll cut back on boost to compensate until it figures it out (which should take a little bit of driving to do).

Its not the turbo, trust me I love that new sound. Its hard to describe. Basically its a very loud and obvious sounding psssssh and very low. I'm going to check for vacuum leaks with some carb cleaner and see what comes up, I'm also going to hit all the hoses and bolts a second time. I will also reset the CPU, though Im using a unichip at the moment so I dont know how that may affect it. I'm scheduled for a tune monday morning so I'll probably just wait and see how it runs over the weekend. It seems more prevelent when the car is warmed up, but certainly it could be my imagination as well.
