Drive is fine - but the early lag is a little rough, so if I'm not just cruising, I have to keep the RPM's up above 3500 which is a little loud.

What kind of gas do you use? 76?

Cheers

I use premium 76 - when I do, the ECU timing advance stays at the maxium (16) if I use Chevron or Shell, the ECU drops to 8-10, which is not as good.

I have over 35K miles on this engine running 21+ lbs of boost, I had boost spikes to 24 lbs, on my old 18G. I don't know if it's "bullet proof" but it seems to be running fine.

i'd get a comp. check and leak down test on that motor. the turbo should be spooling faster and shouldn't drop off so much up top. is there any work done to the head or cams?

I had both leakdown and compression tests done twice in the last 30 days.

Four of my valves were out of tolerance, they were replaced....Here are the results of my last test. Do they look okay to you?

Numbers look ok... Have u checked for boost leaks? It really seems a lot laggier than it should be, especially on a 2.4.

Went to Gruppe-S and I was taken care of! Including tuning, parts and mechanic skills - my car is doing awsome now with an aggressive 300 ft/lbs of torque and a smooth 290 HP - all on an uncorrected AWD Mustang Dyno!

Two thumbs way up for all the assistance I received from them, helpful and knowledgeable.

p.s. Sorens lovely wife was even there with almond cakes

I will post my Dyno sheet as soon as I scan it.

Thanks again guys.

Was hanging out with your buddy Miguel checking out his SR40 getting tuned at Gruppe-s(which is also putting down some great numbers!) and heard about your setup, glad to hear about your improvments, Mikes the best!

I have my doubts to the actual displacement of this motor, but nothing concrete.

The vacuum, idle quality and throttle response would not lead me to believe there is a vacuum leak on this motor although I agree 100% that it is awfully laggy.

I also agree that power (torque) is falling on it's *** and is as much to do with 91 octane quality as it is with the boost tapering (mbc so not much I can do there). The horsepower does not taper, it basically flatlines as anything more than that would bring in the "ping" although I could make the power raise all the way to redline but it's not my engine and Whit wanted to drive it home that night not wonder which replacement to use.

I would imagine this turbo would love to be in a car on real gas with some head work and cams (FMIC would help too).
